As you go to the polls on March 13th, please keep the facts in mind regarding the bond for the new library:
1. A good library not only increases quality of life for our community but also increases property values
2. Libraries are not on the decline, changes in technology have made the need for libraries more important than ever. Our town library use has increased 80% in just 5 years by all age groups
3. The Library Trustees have raised more than 45% of the total cost to build the library
4. The additional operational costs are not significantly increased because we will no longer be paying the ever increasing $56,000 a year in rent
5. The library operations with the additional costs of the bond will represent less than 2% of your total taxes—for what it provides, it is an amazing deal
Our Town and our State has a proud history of supporting education and access to knowledge. Libraries allow all community members opportunities for livelong learning. Please join me on March 13th and vote YES for the library!
